Space Van History
In 1987 I purchased a used vehicle just out of High School that eventually became one of my favorite vehicles of all time. I've owned a very long list of strange cars and trucks ever since then but something about my 1987 Toyota Van just made me fall in love with it. I've been missing it ever since I sold it in 1991.
Through the power of Instagram, I came across guys who were still driving these things. One guy, in particular, created a business out of importing the older vans directly from Japan and does an amazing job refurbishing these things for domestic sale. You can see more of them here at Vanlife Northwest.
Over the summer of 2018 I reached out to them and started my own quest to own one of these fantastic vehicles again. They came across this beauty and I'm more than excited about it. Currently, I'm waiting for confirmation on delivery. I will be flying out to Portland Oregon from Rochester New York to pick her up, then subsequently driver her home.
Then our adventure will begin.
